Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

Yoga for Lower Back Pain

I built up a new desk at the weekend and my back was not happy about it - some spasms grrrr.

Took it easy for a few days and tried just 11 mins of yoga with vytas and it seems to help. I was unsure about starting the hamstring stretches but I felt better for moving about a little.

Catch up, Yoga and BodyCombat 67

I haven't posted in ages, things have been a little crazy with moving house and all that goes with that.

But I did a few weeks of Morning Meltdown 100 and then moved onto 6 Weeks of the Work and that was amazing!!

Loved it, tough but brilliant. The variety is something else!!!

I decided to change my diet up by going my plany based and ct out all the energy drinks, pre and post workout powders.

I started straight into round 2 of The Work but then took bad with IBS/stomach bug so been out of it for a week. But I got back to it with Yoga 21D Day 4 Flow on Wedensday and yesterday I had to go back to old fav.

Bodycombat 67 - after renewing my les mills subscription.

Loved it, my top end HR was not as good as usual but no preworkout to open things up I guess it was too be expected.
I cut the workout short by about 6 minutes, missing the last section but then did or attempted the core section. I had to listed to my body as I'm only just recovered from literally doing very little for week recovery from a weird bug and sloshy tummy.

The dip in the middle was me pausing to check an important email.

But I'm back it now, trying to lean down some of the fluff I put on over the months of moving, no workouts and too much comfort eating.

Core strength with Vytas

Core strength with Vytas and pleased with overall improvements. I managed all the knee hold up reps this time and I actually managed to hold the side plank for a short time on each side - yay for progress!!

Core Strength with Vytas

Love this challenging workout but some bits have gotten more doable so pleased with that.

The one leg side plank is still very tough but the rest I'm getting better at.

Concentrating on the right muscles is making a difference!!

Chased it with Yoga Stretch with Vytas and needed it!

Core Ignition yoga with Ted + Physio Core work

Tried Teds Pre-workout Core ignition yoga workout today to start my core strengthening work, and it was pretty good.

I went fairly modified as I don't want to push it and it was more of a core warm up so I could get my physio core work done. It was really good - enjoyed it and it felt good. Certainly warms you up too :)

Did my physio work and called it quits today. I'm moving a tiny bit better but got lots of niggly touchy bits in my back.
I've made another physio appointment to see someone different on Monday, hopefully all the swelling from her pummelling me on Friday will have subsided and he can straighten me out once and for all.

Back Pain and P90 plus Yoga for Back pain

So went back physio on Friday after hurting by back again on Thursday and she went to work on me real good.

I've done nothing and I mean nothing for days trying to be extra careful - even had 3 days off work to help.

But still 3 days later I'm still not right - I think she actually left me with more discomfort than I went in with is really frustrating. She twisted me and pushed and pulled on my ribs that they actually still are very uncomfortable :( So I'm one unhappy bunny.

I cautiously went work today and was careful while working.
Tonight I really wanted to move my body around as I'm feeling so stiff probably not helped with all the sitting/rest so I did half of P90 Sculpt A with light weights just to remind my muscles not to disappear.
I chased it with Vytas Yoga for back pain - just 11 mins but it was good. I then did some more stretches from physio and my own normal cool down stretches just to make myself feel better.

Slow and steady win the race ;)

Yoga Stretch

Just a nice gentle stretch with Vytas today to get things moving again as I ease back in. It felt great to finally move about after 10 days of resting.

My back is feeling so much better, not quite 100% yet but getting there thank goodness 🙏🏻.

T25 Core Speed and Yoga retreat Day 2 Stretch

T25 Core Speed for me today as I think I need to get my feet ready for Transform 20 and it also got the blood pumping to help with my upper body doms!! The pull up bar sure woke up some muscles yesterday lol.

Chased it with Yoga retreat Day 2 Stretch with the brilliant Vytas = Just what I needed. I swopped it for X3 Yoga and really glad I did - it was great to properly stretch out my lower body and I felt great and calm almost zen afterwards.

80 DO - Day 48 Legs + BOD Yoga Stretch

Oooh I'm aware of my obliques today!

Leg day was tough but I loved it as always. Who else did the wierd front curtsy move with the heal on the slider with the first leg until she said "toe on the slider" lol = very differnet move!

It is a great leg day workout and I'm really curious to see how she amps it up for next week!!

I'm excited with just a hint of trepidation for next weeks workouts lol - I'm thinking go light (bit of a recovery week kinda) and learn the new crazy moves then go for it the next week??? Everyone else???

Chased it with Yoga Stretch with the calming Vytas as its great post leg day stretch = perfect.

P90X3 Complex Upper and 3 Day Refresh Day 2 Restore and Stretch

Wanted more upper body today and needed some pull ups so P90X3 Complex Upper for me with some slight modifications.

Slow mo chin ups - Used chin up max and there slow is my normal speed lol
X Plyo push ups - I just did normal push ups on power stands (my wrist cant hack any impact), + walking side to side in the last 2 sets.
Lunge Thrust Press - my legs didn't need anymore work after Triometrics yesterday so I subbed in Deep Swimmers Press for a little more Biceps and Shoulder action.
W Pull Ups - I did just Chin up max normal Pulls ups
Push up Bird Dog Crunch - no mod really other then knees when I needed to.

Burn out - I went with the kids as best as I could -it was the burn out afterall ;)

Then I tried the new 3 Day Refresh Yoga and tried Day 2 Restore and Stretch for a good stretch and restore and I was a little disspointed.
There wasn't as much stretching as I would have hoped. There was a lot of time spent on that hamstring section which I struggled with a little. Probably my long legs make it more difficult but I found the internal and external rotation tricky too and it didn't stretch or feel where Ted said it should hmmm?
The meditation bit I was looking forward too but there wasn't much to it - keep coming back to focus and then left you to it and right at the end he spoke to the seated people asking for gratitude, I'm laying flat out on the floor waiting for the instructions for us laying there and nothing then thanks and good bye = WTH! ok then Ted thanks for nothing, I'll bring myself back round and sit up and say thanks and nameste on my own shall I!
I shouldn't expect tons of stretching as its just for the 3 day'ers but I felt he should have finsihed off the medittion properply grrrr. Sorry rant over!

A little Obsessed - Day 2 Booty

Oh My Abs!!! My abs are on fire today from yesterday, laugh, sit down, reach = ouchy!!!!

On to Day 2 today for Booty...this one is very Booty centric which is no surprise from the name really but she works different angles to most other workouts I've done.

Choosing the right band is really important on this one - legs are stronger than we think and its easy to choose a light band and not feel it much. I went light on the first set and heavyied up in the second.

Some different and cool stuff in these workouts - Autumn has done good I think!

I chased it with Yoga Stretch with Vytas as my lower body needed some TLC and way more stretching than Autumn gave us. I'm expecting some soreness but good stretching I think will allow me to walk tomorrow ;)

P90X Kenpo X and Bod Yoga Core Strength with Vytas

Kenpo X and apart from a few groans from some leg/glute muscles in the early stretches lol I really enjoyed it.

Chased it with Core Strength with Vytas, as I missed Yoga on Thursday, which was actually harder than I remembered and didn't have as many stretches as I hoped or rather needed.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Nice to de-stress, stretch out, work the core and chill with Vytas - just what I needed again for Yoga day.

Just need to decide now to go with X2 Base and Back tomorrow or go old school X Legs and Back???

P90X2 SW2 D5 Strong but simple flow Yoga

Got my calandar wrong yesterday thinking it was Base and Back today- told you I had a stressful evening lol.

I subbed in Strong but simple flow Yoga with Vytas instead of X2 Yoga, but it was shortened down by about 10 mins, as I was short on time after a very stressful and busy day.

The stretch and time to think of nothing but doing what Vytas told me was just what I needed to calm me down.

Didn't put Polar HRM on so used iWatch...235 Total Cals, 168 Active Cals Avg HR 86 BPM in 48 mins.
