Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

P90X3 Yoga, The Challege and CVX which turned into Max 30 Cardio Challenge

Monday was P90X3 Yoga and apart from an interruption to go find our missing pup who wasn’t really missing - he was just hiding under the bush as he was scared of the fireworks - it was just what I neededπŸ™πŸ».

Yesterday was The Challenge and it went pretty well. Push ups feeling good, more military done on 1 knee instead of 2 😊 so more progress.
Managed to get to my pull up bar thank goodness and I managed 3 unassisted chin ups with a small jump at the bottom 😁, the rest were assisted and I did 30kg pulldowns in the burnout just to keep things interesting.

Today was going to be CVX but I started it and got some weird pain in my left shoulder during the push jacks, tried to work through it into loading dock but it was having none of it so I quit it and went straight into Max 30 Cardio Challenge. Enjoyed it but struggled a little during the last two rounds - I think I ran out of gas..been a long stressy day and lacking a bit food me thinks.

P90X3 Dynamix, Yoga, The Challenge and The Warrior with Max30 Cardio Challenge

Been a crazy week so catch up post....

Monday was X3 Dynamix and Yoga πŸ™πŸ».

Tuesday time was tight was I got the The Challenge done. I was pleased with my increase reps in pull ups (some as I almost didnt get my chin over as I reached failure last time - I made them this time) and my push ups are feeling stronger. Miltary (my weakest from injured shoulder) I did more on one knee instead of two knees and even those on feet I took less or later breathers ie 10 last week was 5-3-2 I managed 6-4 this week so YAY!!!πŸ’ͺ🏻

I needed some Shaun T on Thursday so I manage to squeeze in Cardio Challenge and it was tough but loved it - I know I've said it before but still nobody makes me sweat like Shaun T!!!😰

Yesterday I just managed to carve out the time to get The Warrior done and phew - its still pretty brutal. Was pleased with the Elevator push ups this week - slight improvement over last week.πŸ’ͺ🏻

Rest today and then decide if I do a third week of X3 Phase 1, move on to phase 2 or change to some X2 πŸ€”.

80 DO - Day 32 Cardio Flow...err nope..Max 30 Cardio Challenge

So I got warmed up and ready to go today and I started Cardio Flow and my shoulders moaned on those first few inchworms, I did a few spiders moved on to diamond jumps and then as we started inchworms again my shoulders said "you think we can cope with another 30 mins of this you got to be joking!!!" So I stopped. Not only mentally was not in the mood for it my body physically just didn't want it - it needs more recovery of those same old moves beofre we start next week so that was that.
I dont want to feel I've cheated on Autumn or the program or not do it to its fullest but I have to listen to my body and all the shoulder/plank work is taking its toll and I/they clearly need more rest. People with strong upperbody or not recovering for an injury might be fine but not me.

I dove into the BOD library and chose some Shaun T with Max 30 Cardio Challenge, which I really enjoyed. Had a min or two to sort out a hair malfunction a good few minutes in but other than that I pushed as hard as I could. I modified some of the floor work to not stress my shoulders and def. worked up a good sweat and burnt a few calories too.

IMax 30 Cardio Challenge and 360 Abs

IMax 30 Cardio Challenge and gave it my all. I was hoping this was going to feel a little easier since doing Shaun Week but it wasn't lol

Tough but I just took a few breathers and dug as deep as I could.

Chased it with 360 Abs which is very tough but so good for you...if/when I can do this all the way through do you think I'll have abs like Shaun????

Max 30 Cardio Challenge

Kitchen fitter in from 7.30am this morning = much earlier start for us than normal, lead to not quite as good eating as normal, eating later than planned and tough to get a workout in.

Our small living room was reduced in size as it was holding the contents of the kitchen but I manged to make enough room to get most of my mat on the floor to attempt something lol.

I figured I had no chance of Plyo X so I went for something quick and intense to help ease some of the stress and tensions of the day (tough for Shaun's stuff) so Max 30 Cardio Challenge was it.

I had to modify the plank work to standing knee raises and power knees as best as I good. Burpees I just did squats for and overall I kept my HR up there during the modifications. But I had many interruptions along the way which is no where near ideal for Max out workouts but hey at least I got something done and I felt better for it ;)

Insanity Max 30 Cardio Challenge & BOD Yoga Ted's Muscle Recovery

Well I just did Cardio Challenge, my first ever Insanity Max 30 workout and woweeee!!
I maxed out pretty early on, in Min 6,  as I'm certainly a late bloomer into the cardio world and have lost a little cardio conditioning over the last couple of months but wow did I enjoy it!

I kept going and kept pushing following the modifier where I needed to to keep going and it was awesome!

Chased it with Ted's Muscle Recovery Yoga which gave some nice stretches.
