Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

22 MHC Cardio 3 & Spec Ops Cardio

I decided to go double 22MHC this morning with Cardio 3 (and with no breaks its pretty tough), took a minute or two to catch my breath and bring my heart rate down and then straight into Spec Ops Cardio!
Only used 2kg/4.4lb for the weighted moves and 3kg/6.6lb for the Burpee rolls (more weight helps to get me up at the end lol)
I smashed the first one and pushed as hard as I could on the second and loved it!! Great challenge and my energy levels were great - I struggled with oxygen but energy was great - who knew I needed more oats in a morning!

22 MHC Cardio 3 and P90X3 Yoga

My ying yang combo that just works!!
Things are not going so great on the property front so some real downer emotional rollercoasters today so needed Tony shouting at me to help my mood and then some calm to help balance things out again.

Trying to stay positive but some times its soooo hard when everybody chucks hurdles at you!!!

22MHC Cardio 3 and P90X3 Yoga

This really is a great Ying yang combo - high octane pretty much non stop cardio for 22 mins then (apart from still sweating profusely) controlled movement of Yoga postures with balance and finally calm!!!

For me a wonderful way to scorch around 700 cals!!! Magic!!!

And talk about complete balance - check out my Heart rate zones - 25%, 25%, 25% and 24% with 1%!!! Couldn't have done it if I had tried lol

22 MHC 47/54 - Cardio 3 and Core 2 Last day of Week 8 finished normal program. Also Country Swing

So last day of 8 weeks and I haven't missed one workout ( I missed one day but doubled up to catch up the next day) so I've completed all the workouts including all the core ones - subbing in Special Ops ones most of the time they were on the calendar.

Really loved it and I'm going to do hell week (doubles) next week to really finish it!!

After Cardio 3 and Core 2 and I then did the Beachbody on demand sneak peak of Country Heat with the first workout of Country Swing. It was good fun, hoping I won't have doms for using muscles I don't normally use in that way and I can't believe how many calories I burnt = 885 in 1 hr and 24 mins!!

22MHC 44/54 - Cardio 3 and Core 2

This one is soon tough without breaks!!

But I did it about the same as last time but my burpees felt a little quicker :) It felt pretty intense and I think the Graph confirms the effort with a  few mins of chisel Warm up before I got stuck in...

Core 2 was pretty brutal tonight too after all those high low boats from yesterday. I did my best and forgot the rest.

Here's the total session including stretch (Not a bad way to burn over 600 cals in an hour - I used to have to do P90X Plyometrics for a full hour to get that burn!!)...

22 MHC 42/54 - Cardio 3 and Special Ops Core

Cardio 3 was great tonight. No modifications except the quick stepping burpees and slightly slower on some moves and I smashed it. Best I've ever done it that's for sure ;)

Special Ops Core was very welcome after all the Core 2's this week. Didn't do quite as well on some moves as last time but I gave it my all. My Sidewinders have definitely improved - I can get from one end of my mat to the other now!

Great end to Week 7 of 22MHC and 7 Weeks of not having one piece of Chocolate when I used to have at least 1-2 chunks a day!

22MHC 40/54 - Cardio 3 and Core 2

Again I chose the non Special Ops one today with Cardio 3 and its still as brutal as I remember it, with no breaks, but thankfully my energy levels are returning to normal and I felt like I smashed it.

Spider Crawls & Skip Flys got all reps no problems.
Cross Climbers I was a little slower than them for help of for full time ;)
Fast feet up/down and just about kept up although 2 of the downs were fast/ poor on the last round.
Sphinx Kickers again slower than them but much better that before and I modified round 2 to hands instead of forearms.
Spin Burpees I quickly stepped feet in and out instead of the jump  (as my back still doesn't like them) but I got all the reps.

Really pleased with improvements for this one :)

Core 2 is still mostly tough  witha few easy ones in there and the plank roll I took the push ups out like I was thinking about and it felt much better. Considering I have Chest Doms today I think it was a great decision. I should be able to make a much better job of the pump jumpers tomorrow.

22 MHC 28/54 - Cardio 3 and Core 2

Wow this Cardio 3 really is at a pretty intense pace especially with no breaks! I forgot no breaks OMG!!

Took some Reflex BCAA Intra Fusion during this workout for the first time today and it did make a difference, I was able to keep pushing as I didn't feel so muscularly tired. I only had a little and it was very sweet - so may have even less tomorrow but I think the aminos, electrolytes, glutamine and some protein really helped ;) Much much better than the coconut water that I tried.

Core 2 was no joke again today especially after all those Mountain Squats yesterday = ouchy!

Tough but still loving it - wish me look for doubles tomorrow.

22 MHC 23/54 - Cardio 3 and Core 1

OMG what was that!!!

That was pretty brutal and with no breaks!!!

Spider crawls & Sphinx Kickers - where did he dream those up from??

Knee drop lunges (or surrenders if you have done 21 day fix) I wouldn't do them in 21DF but with my new cushy matt for my knees they were ok but I found them hard to do fast!

Fast Feet with more Burpees grrrrr

Spin Burpees - just when I thought I had enough burpees in my life!!

Skip flies - I'll do them any day of the week - it was the only move I could keep up with them on OMG!

Core 1 was a welcome break once I had recovered for a few mins phew!
