I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

Great to deadlift again - fairly light start with 37kg/81lb for 8 and I'm curious to see what I can get that up to by the end.
I have to be honest this time around I'm really enjoying it ;) I might miss the buzz of a good cardio routine soon and have to stick one in here and there just so I don't loose too much but see what Beast Cardio has in store for me tomorrow.

Calories are up but macros aren't dialled in yet so see how it goes.

Body Beast - Build Legs

Body Beast - Build Legs

So I decided to make a start on Beast. I know it normally Chest & Tris to start but after Chest and Back yesterday I figured one day didn't matter so put my bench back into my gym room and got to it.

Went really light as I remember the post leg day doms were terrible last time and there is a lot of reps to get through.

But I enjoyed it so lets beast up!!!!

Had to have a spoonful of peanut butter to get my calories though yum! Calories good macro's not so much. I'm sure I won't have spot on but I'm gonna aim in the general direction if I can lol
Is it 25C 50P 25F in the first Build phase?? I should fetch my book of beast tut tut

Long stressful day with poor eating but got something in - my plans had gone awry this week but got something done. As I didn't get my pull ups done with complex upper the other day then this seemed like a good plan.

It was pretty good too - I surprised myself on my medball push ups and my plyo ones too.

P90X3 Complex Lower & Upper

P90X3 Complex Lower & Upper

So I managed to get something done today at last but about 20 mins in it became really hard work! I took a breather and pushed on to the end but boy I was struggling, just no energy at all.

I starter Complex Upper and I was really struggling. I managed 1 unassisted chin up and 1/3 of a second and I managed 10 full push ups which really pleased me but boy I was done. My energy was just gone so I as much I don't like quitting workouts I had to listen to my body and stop. So I cooled and down stretched after only about a 1/4 of it.

I can only presume it's the poor eating and lack of sleep for the last 3 days that caused it. Got to get some routine back and good eating again. Driving all over the county looking at properties is really hard work!

I really wanted to get both done as I don't think I'll get chance tomorrow but fingers crossed eating and sleeping will be better now and I can get back on it asap.

Had a very busy day and didn't think I was gonna get my workout in but manage to squeeze in Bodycombat61 and it was awesome! Some more new combos and quick changes but really got the heart going and I got a great burn!!! Loved it!!

Grit Strength 8 and Asylum Relief

Grit Strength 8 and Asylum Relief

So I warmed up with a 2kg DB and worked with a 8kg Barbell and a 3kg DB - both of which were too light - need to up them next time for sure.

Loads of burpees in this one but using the step made them slightly easier but my hands weren't keen on the step ;(

Enjoyed it but def up the weights next time to 5kg DB and 10kg BB see how that goes.

I'm enjoying these but I don't get the burn in the hour (30mins Grit then Relief to cool down and nice stretch ) but maybe the after burn will be worth it - give it a couple of weeks and see how I feel, probably do the 3 weeks as norm and then change it up?

Tried body balance tonight and it didn't flow at all - some new moves but when I'd done I needed more so I did body combat which was good fun. Some new combos that took a bit of getting my head round but enjoyed it.

Les Mills on Demand - Grit Strength 6 + Relief

Les Mills on Demand - Grit Strength 6 + Relief

First time doing Grit and it was awesome! Very quick pace and pretty tough most of the way through but I loved it ;)

I warmed up with a 3kg DB which in hindsight was a touch heavy for a warm up for those shoulders. Go for 2kg next time.
I used 2 x 4kg DBs for Squats/shrugs and Lunges sections. These were tough but doable so stay here for next session.
The lateral section was really tough on my upper arms with the 3kg def. try a 2kg next time - my shoulder just couldn't hold it up over head for that length of time after the presses tired them out ;(
All the barbell section I used an empty BB @ 7kg and it was ok to on the light side so don't go crazy but up it to 8kg next time.
The core section was so much harder than it looked. All those hovers ouchy! and I used the 2kg for the crunches and do this again next time but get more reps.

Overall I struggled to keep up with the pace and maybe compromised form a little especially on the burpees which I really shouldn't have done - Form before Speed remember!! Get it right then go faster!

Chased it with Asylums Relief just to stretch and cool down as there are no cool downs in these 30 mins workouts.

Did this tonight for a change and really enjoyed it and most of all it made realise how far I've come. When I first did this it was pretty tough, the jumping jacks did me in every break and the X jacks almost killed me - tonight I did it all and all the X jacks and it was pretty much a breeze!!!

Amazing how our body change over time if we keep putting the effort in! I hope this doesn't sound wrong but I'm really proud of myself!

Anyone doubting they can do it - keep pushing play, keep giving it your all and you will get there!!

Upped my weights again for both these workout so super pleased with that ;)
I just about got 1 unassisted chin up tonight too wahoo! only used a bit of toe on the wall but its more progress ;) and I managed 4 plyo push ups for the first time ever - didn't get very high but I was off the ground so wahoo again!!!
Only a little Kenpo/Combat/MMX tomorrow (not decided yet) and thats the end of week 3 of my second phase of my P90X hybrid!

Upped my weights and reps again where I could and pushed hard - PR'd the super set at the end too - 8 x 8kg (17.6lb), 8 x 7kg (15.4lb), 8 x 6kg (13.2lb) and 8 x 5kg (11lb) phew!!

Improved weights and reps in most places ;) went well expect on the throw the bomb as it bothered my left elbow for some reason?

Good stuff and my core still felt tired in ab ripper from sat.

Wow great workout today - these two together worked well for me as an alternative to Legs and Back. I subbed the lunge thrust press with straight push press for all sets except the burnout ;)

I pushed hard and upped my weights and reps in nearly all areas and my energy level was through the roof when I finished - very strange but I liked it ;)
