Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

BodyBalance 68 and P90X3 Incinerator twice

Thursday I got in some LMOD Bodybalance and really enjoyed it, lovely flowing warm up, little strength work, nice stretches and especially the 10 min meditation at the end. Just helps keep me de-stressed :)

Rested yesterday, although busy work day, didn't feel much like rest moving 22kg / 48lbs containers all day long lol.

Today I went back to my pal Tony and did X3 Incinerator through once with medium weights, skipped the burnout and went through it all again with heavy weights and well I did my best in the burn out as I was toasty toast! Felt done but loved it :)
Still suffering some sinus issues, much to my annoyance, but feeling better :)

Going old school tomorrow with good ol' P90X Plyometrics!!!

LIIFT4 R2 W2 D3 Shoulders intervals & D4 Legs 50/50 (from Wk 3)

LIIFT4 R2 W2 Shoulders intervals was yesterday and I felt weak. Been fighting sinusitis for a few days and I think it’s took it out of me ☹️ as I’m clearly not 100%.
I went slightly lighter than usual and still had to drop my weights but got it done.
I skipped the core section and went straight into MMX but only 3 rounds and called it quits.

Today was Legs 50/50 from week 3. After having what feels like a slight bicep strain after every leg day from holding up the heavy DBs and as my flexibility doesn’t allow me to be as upright as perfect form would like me to be, I decided to hold the DBs at my sides. It was soooo much better.
Increased my bridge weight in the final set as they felt good 🙂
All others I kept the same.
Did well in the core as I held all the side planks for just about full time. Big progress from lots of knee downs previously so chuffed with that 😜
I was so burnt toast by the end though.

I may do some yoga tomorrow but 2 days rest and I should be feeing 110% and ready to start a fresh week!

Keep at it every one x

Catch up

Thursday was LIIFT 4 Rnd 2 Day 4 Shoulders Intervals and was going to be T25 Core Speed but 5 mins in we had the floods out - literally water everywhere in the warehouse from an overflowing leaf filled gutter!. So I spent the next hour (almost out of range my phone for HR) carrying buckets of water, mopping up water etc etc.....nightmare but a good workout all the same lol.

Rested Friday with a crazy day taking dogs to the vets.

Sat was LIIFT 4 R2 Wk2 D1 Chest and Tricep Circuit - wow I was toast when I was done. Those quad sets are still brutal.

Sunday was LIIFT 4 R2 Wk2 D2 Back & Biceps 50/50 but I only did the first 50, then when straight into X3 Triometrics and then switched back to L4 for the core finisher and it was lol.

Working out on different days is taking some getting used to but doing Sat and Sun when I have more time and usually do a lot less activity makes sense. Also means I get to spend a bit more time working in the week which keeps the boss happy lol.

Keep pushing play everyone!!!!

LIIFT 4 Rnd 2 Day 2 Back & Biceps & Day 3 Legs 50/50

Monday was Back and Biceps Circuit and enjoyed it and embraced the shaky arms lol

Rested yesterday and today was Leg 50/50, kept weights about the same but did up the bridge to 2 x 9kg / 20lbs.

Was short on time as work was busy so skipped the core but I was toasty toast by the end.

LIIFT 4 Rnd 2 Wk 1 Day 1 Chest and Tri's 50/50 but subbed HIIT portion for X3 Triometrics

Had some rest and itching to get back to it so I'm starting Round 2 of L4 today, with a few of my own tweaks and cardio swops :)

L4 Chest and Tris 50/50 but I subbed in X3 Triometrics for the HIIT portion - loved it!

Feels great to be back working out again after 4 long days of nothing. I needed the rest I know but it doesn't make it easier lol
I've definitely put on a bit of fluff during the last week or so, eating too many choc brownies and doing very little so here's to getting rid of it and more plus building more muscle and getting stronger!

22MHC Resistance 1 and T25 Core Speed

Yesterday I did Resistance 1 and enjoyed it. I had planned to do Core 2 afterwards but it was a crazy work day and the time just got away from me.

Today I went for some Shaun T with Core Speed and loved it. Sometimes you just need that cardio high that only Shaun can give you ;)

I may do some yoga tomorrow but I'm actually feeling pretty beat up especially as I'm not sleeping well at the moment so I think I might take the rest of the week off, recover fully and come back strong on Monday.

P90X3 MMX and Yoga

Punching and kicking was just what I needed today but got interrupted after not long started but got back to it.

Had to cut my yoga short as time ran out but enjoyed it none the less and felt better for it 😊

LIIFT4 Wk 8 Day 4 Total Body HIIT and done!!!!

This was good fun today and made my quads burny!!!

But hey I finished the 8 week program - Wahoo!! Another one in the books!

Really enjoyed it and I do feel much stronger from it in lots of ways. I want to do it again but feel I need a change for a few days so I think I'm going to have week with Tony H and then will start with Joel again, adding in my much missed Yoga and subbing in some different Cardio with Shaun T and some more Tony :)

Overall a great program - one of the better weight lifting programs for sure - especially for those that are not a fan of Sagi. Some of the pacing is pretty quick which could be tricky for some but great program.

LIIFT 4 Wk 8 Day 3 Shoulders & Arms Circuit

We have a long drive and are out for the day tomorrow so no chance of getting my workout in and as this program is so flexible and thankfully no Intervals in this one - I did tomorrows Day 4 today.

Enjoyed it although it felt slightly rushed. Pleased with weights in the first block but had to drop in the second to maintain form. My shoulders are slowly slowly getting stronger thank goodness.

Final day on Friday and then LIIFT 4 is complete OMG!

LIIFT 4 Wk 8 Day 2 Legs 50/50

I increased on my deadlift and first two sets of Side lunges but kept everything else the same as last week.
I had to put a towel over my hip bones for the bridges as the two 8kg /17.6lbs sitting on them start to dig in :(

Cardio was tough with tired legs but I pushed through as best as I could. I thought the leg lift in the core section was a cracking finisher for leg day!

Great leg day - I was done toasty toast!!!

LIIFT4 Wk 8 Day 1 Chest and Back Circuit

I managed to stick with good weights in the first block, including an increase in my pull over (Managed 10kg / 22lbs and my shoulder felt good and strong and no clicking at last Yay!!)  but had to drop for chest press in the second set of the second black but over all really pleased.

I subbed pull ups for wide rows again and I do believe it starting to feel a little easier (for the first few reps anyway lol) so I think this Joel stuff is really suiting me - I'm actually getting stronger lol
I did lawnmowers again for the Trad row and stuck with the same weight, which in the 2nd block I was pleased with.

Burn out push ups I struggled with - oh my chest was done!!

Core was fine apart from struggling to hold the dumbell between my knees because my chest was shaking!! Anyone else???

Birthday workout

Had to do something today to burn some calories so that I could indulge in my some homemade Chocolate Brownies for my 40th Birthday!!! I can't believe I'm 40 OMG!!!!!

I chose LMOD BodyCombat 67 and loved every minute of it!!! Short leg section was tough after yesterdays HIIT but still had fun.

Felt great to punch and kick get a serious sweat on - love it!!!!
