Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

LM Combat 60 Live Ultimate Warrior Workout

LM Combat 60 Live Ultimate Warrior Workout

Felt like a change and this was totally brand new to me - I loved it

It was great, there's a bit of everything in there, really great workout. A few new combos take a bit of getting used to as always but I'll definitely do this one again.

Even the few push ups and abs at the end makes it a great total body beat up

P90X Legs and Back + Deadlifts

Deadlifts + X Legs and Back

Did Legs and Back warm up then some deadlifts...
Deadlifts were 15 @ 17kg, 12 @ 27kg & 8 @ 37kg and it felt good.

Then straight into the main workout which was harder all round lol.

Upped my calf raise squats to 2 x 7kg and step back lunges to 2 x 4kg and all the calf raises to 2 x 5kg. I did the iso lunges mostly fast as I was toast by then.

But all my pull ups were harder with the now 2 bands instead 3 so over all I was pleased with my pull up numbers. 10's were downs to 6's in the first round and most of 2nd round numbers were close.

I maybe pushed a little too hard with all the increases ????? but it's about progress right??

I was sweating like I'm not sure I have before and after getting up early this morning because our pup was poorly I really need to sleep.

P90X Yoga

X Yoga

2nd half was tough today - not sure why?

But working on weaknesses is always good

P90X2 Shoulders and Arms

X2 Shoulders and Arms

Upped most of my weights from last time but I think MMX took a bit more out of my shoulders than I thought

But I didn't think 16 curls @ 6kg each arm on one leg was bad for a lady??? I can do 10 reps as tricep kickbacks too

I did Y-T fly with 3kg today for the first time in the 3rd round so pleased with that

Every extra kg, and every extra rep is more progress = Getting there!!!

P90X3 MMX + LM Combat Inner Warrior Stretch

X3 MMX + LM Combat Inner Warrior Stretch

Short on time so went for a slightly shorter one with MMX - great fun  I seemed to get through it with out dying tonight so pleased with that. My sprawls (Burpee without push up) are slowly getting better. I think it helps that my upper body is getting stronger

Warrior stretch was just what I needed afterwards too - love it!

P90X3 The Challenge + X3 Ab Ripper

X3 The Challenge + X3 Ab Ripper

Reduced my assistance for pull ups by another inch and managed 6 reps throughout so pleased with that. Except during the bonus round one of the pink cords snapped  thankfully I was only putting my foot in so no harm done, but I have less assist now whether I wanted it or not lol. So now on 2 and not 3 bands.
Probably a blessing in disguise as long as the others hold on

Then I tried X3 Ab ripper for the first time.....more core than just abs and it was tough. Those dolphin hops are hard on the shoulders and the banana to boat into mason twist OMG  Then over 100 bicycles at the end = yeah maybe sometime in the future!!!

Looking forward to improve on this ab ripper

P90X Legs and Back + Deadlifts

Deadlifts + X Legs and Back

Deadlifts upped from last session to
Deadlifts were 15 @ 14kg, 12 @ 24kg & 8 @ 34kg

Then got stuck in to Legs and back which was fun  upped my weights to 2 x 6kg for calf raise squats and 2 x 3kg for step back lunges. Upped my pull ups numbers, even tried an unassisted chin up and got about 3/4 of the way so I'm getting there  I'm going to reduce my assistance again which will lower my reps but it should increase my strength to accomplish my life long goal.
It's in touching distance now
Struggled as usual with the Toe-roll iso lunge - they are brutal after everything else done already but I did manage all the wall squats better today.

My legs are really firming up and all of me is looking better as I'm starting to make inroads into the stubborn fat that's been there the longest

P90X+ Intervals and LM Pump Flow

X+ Intervals and LM Pump Flow

Just needed a good cardio fix tonight so Intervals from P90X+ was the chosen one!

Great workout, really enjoy this - its tough and I think I did better tonight than last time (my first time) and I chased it with a quick 19 mins of Yoga and stretch which was lovely to cool down with and finish off

It was better than nothing  my half moon and twisting half moon felt great tonight

P90X2 Shoulders and Arms

Delayed from yesterday because we were called to RSPCA to see another pup they thought we like:huh: so emotional roller coaster was started again but after meeting him it was not to be so thank goodness as we are not ready fro another just yet!

X2 Shoulders and Arms

Kept my weights the same from when I last did this one in June and upped my reps where I could. Overall pleased as I matched or increased my reps on every move except Bi's which were lacking a little in the 3rd/final set - only managed 3 @ 20lb/9kg so dropped to 5 @ 17.5lb / 8kg, where as I managed 8 @ 20lb/9kg last time

Got to go vets again tomorrow night, I'm hoping all goes well and I get my workout done but time will tell. I'd planned for X yoga but it might be X2 or X3 yoga depending on time left in the evening.

P90X2 Plyocide

X2 Plyocide

This was good tonight, I had a few interruptions from the pup but other than that it went pretty well.

Still managed to do the hop section for the full time so really pleased with that.

Warrior 3 lunges felt hard tonight for some reason too!

P90X3 The Challenge & X2 Ab Ripper

X3 The Challenge & X2 Ab Ripper

Pleased with my progress in this since I last did it in April my target numbers were 8 pulls (with less assistance than last time) & 8 push's compared to 8 pulls & 6 push from April.

I got most of my numbers too  big increase in overall push up numbers total 63 full push ups & 16 knees up from 48 full last time and pull ups were almost the same 59 vs 60 but I know I have reduce assistance at least twice so although similar number they were all harder

Ab ripper was tough but I gave it a good go!

LM Pump Flow

LM Pump Flow for me tonight - was going to do X stretch but couldn't face the full hour after the hoovering so nice bit of Yoga and a few stretches was enough.

A few changes this coming week, with X3's The Challenge and Some X2 Shoulders and Arms to mix things up

P90X3 Cold Start & Accelerator

X3 Cold Start & Accelerator

Phew!!! This is a tough one for me - I enjoy it but all the plank work I find tough on the arms!
But I will keep working on my weakness so that they are not weakness's any more!!!

P90X2 Recovery and Mobility

X2 Recovery and Mobility

Nice bit of foam rolling was exactly what I needed after 2 weeks of pushing hard.

This week is a easier/different/recovery week for me then push hard again for two weeks with a slight change up of workouts

P90X Legs and Back + Deadlifts.

Had two days off - friday had to take pup to vets who unexpectedly had to be heavily sedated to remove a grass seed from his ear!! Hence it was a long recovery and couldn't leave him that evening. Sat we went to the game and country fair and walked round for about 4 hours. We had a great time but I was pretty shattered after trying to make the pup behave around all the exciting new people and dogs!

But today back at it with P90X Legs and Back + Deadlifts.

Did Legs and Back warm up then some easyish deadlifts...
Deadlifts were 15 @ 12kg, 12 @ 22kg & 8 @ 32kg - same as my last BBeast workout just to keep my muscles awake lol.

Then continued on with legs and back which went pretty well. Felt a little toasted towards the end after upping some of weights and doing the whole thing this time.  (I skipped a few because of foot)

So this week plan and therefore next weeks plan is little changed but such is life.
