Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

LM Pump & Burn followed by Flow

LM Pump & Burn followed by Flow

Upped my weight for legs and back to 10kg up from 7kg and kept the rest the same.
I enjoyed it but it's weight training in a different way to what I'm used to. The effort is different because its muscle endurance more than strength so I'm not sweating that much or trying that hard but the muscles eventaully start screaming
In the same way that my legs do in T25 Lower focus  but at least in T25 I'm breathing hard and working hard!

The legs and back I have to up again if I do this one again as I'm not breathing heavy when she says I should be lol but the others still make my muscles scream till I have to miss a couple of reps just to stop the pain?? Not sure I'm gonna love this or not. I'm gonna try Pump & Shred on Monday to see what that one's like?

Pump flow seems to follow it well as the stretching always makes me feel great at the end

T25 Lower Focus and Ab Intervals

T25 Lower Focus and Ab Intervals

Well this was burnt burn in the thighs but not quite as bad as I remember it being last time. I really quite enjoyed it.

The ab intervals are tough for me, looking forward to getting much better at this still. I'd like to think I'll have rock hard abs when I've perfected these moves

My mat arrived today and it's brill. Just what I wanted, fits the living room excellent and is really grippy for hands and feet - so burpees are much easier

On the downside I had a call from beachbody to say there is a delay with my P90 order  and it should be with me before next friday  They refunded me my express postage but still really disappointed.

X3 The Challenge

So after 3 days rest (which was hard from the pain and agony, from lack of sleep and wanting to be doing my workouts) I'm finally back at it today thank goodness.

X3 The Challenge

Wanted to keep this one in the mix just to keep up with my pull ups and push ups.
I used my new chin up max which works really well, better than the pull revolution I had before. It was slightly higher than I've been used but not wanting to stress my back it seemed like a good plan so my numbers were 8 & 8.
Apart from a few push ups still on my knees towards the end I was pleased with my progress.
Also no pain in my back

And on a side note I ordered the new P90 last night  had to keep my collection complete  .
Hoping to get my mum on board with it too but it will be great for me to have an easier Tony time once in a while

And I ordered myself a bigger mat for doing T25 on 6' x 5' so it will be much better for doing burpees on and to protect my joints with all the jumping. Been wanting one for a while and decided to go for it. Early happy Xmas to me lol

Upper back pain

Rest day for me which is really disappointing as I was looking forward to my pull ups :(

But I was up in the night with pain in my upper back, between shoulder blade and spine. Really achey and very intense pain when I take a deep breath.

Worked on some triggers with  the tennis ball and took some pain killers and finally got back sleep but today I've been in pain most of the day, admittedly not taken any more pain killers as I was hoping for it to ease off after lots of more trigger work but it hasn't so more pain killers before bed tonight and see how I feel tomorrow.

Really annoying as not sure what's caused it, I've suffered with it a little in the past but got the trigger and sorted it but this time it's worse than I've ever had it.
I did a bit of reading while I was up waiting for the pain killers to kick in and it sounds like a lot of people suffer with it and it's an indicator of muscle imbalance and comes from bench pressing. So I'm thinking maybe the pump session upset it but I'm hoping to get back to it tomorrow and work though it.

T25 Cardio

T25 Cardio

Phew think I nailed this tonight. Pushed hard and kept going as much as I could.

My 3rd time and I'm getting better. The lungey bits were tough with doms from the squats from yesterday but overall really enjoyed it.

Les Mills Pump and Burn + Pump Flow

I rested yesterday as I just couldn't fancy anything and not even half hour of yoga so I decided to listen to my body and chill out.

Les Mills Pump and Burn + Pump Flow

This was my first time doing this one and it pretty good. Was unsure on my weights but went with 2 x 2kg to warm up with then 7kg for the rest and 1 x 2kg DB for abs at the end.

Squats I just got through it only missing a few reps so the weight was perfect  Chest was pretty good too, real good burn going on but got through it Deadlift, Row, Clean & press section was very easy so will up that to maybe 9 or 10kg

Abs were tougher than I thought, crunches with weight and heel taps went ok I got through it but then the plank section I pretty much failed miserably at  so lots to improve on there.

Overall loved it and the time flew by and I kinda wanted more  (not the abs section though)!

There was a pretty good stretch section at the end but I still chased it with Flow and that took me the full hour all in and I felt great

T25 Speed 1.0 and T25 Stretch

T25 Speed 1.0 and T25 Stretch

Well I reckon I nailed Speed 1.0 tonight

Apart from a few reps to see the move I kept going for all of it and kept up with them for most of it too. Big improvement from the first time I did it - love it!!!

and I followed it immediately with Stretch which I enjoyed this time too. Holding the lunge for a long time for the hip flexor stretches I found tough (my legs were a touch tired from pump yesterday) but the rest was great and I felt good.

I was originally going to chase it Pump flow but as I got the T25 DVD out I saw the stretch DVD and thought yep that will be better
