Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

LIIFT4 Wk 3 Day 1 Chest and Tris 50/50, Day 2 Back and Bi's Circuit

LIIFT 4 Week 3
Chest and Triceps yesterday was a bear!! Increased my weights where I could but Oh my shaky arms - the tricep push ups were pretty much impossible for me :(
The HIIT section I found pretty tough too - it's all up a notch from the last 2 weeks which is what we want after all :)

Today I'm feeling it in my chest and tri's!

On to Back and Biceps today and I'm chuffed with my increases on most of weights except the hammer as I was toast by then lol

Hopefully get a good walk in tomorrow and I might try for a stretch/foam roll and get my Tony fix at the same time :)

LIIFT4 Wk 2 Day 4 Legs HIIT

Phew this was a tough one today! 1st round was ok, 2nd not bad and 3rd was tough but then the burnout OMG that was pretty brutal.

Just no time to get to take a breath - more oxygen needed!!!  I was expecting something but not quite that lol.

It's a great workout but I have to be honest I miss the weights for legs this week - we do HIIT through the week anyway I thought he could have gone circuit legs or something with weights.

Bring on next week!

LIIFT4 Wk 2 Day 3 Shoulders Intervals

Went for a 4 mile walk yesterday around a Nature Reserve which was a nice change of pace.

Today Shoulders and wow what a shoulders workout it was too. Had to drop my weights on some as I my form was going :( and the pace was relentless.

Love the HIIT intervals although catcher burpees was a bit crual with tired shoulders!

The core section OMG it had my core screaming for mercy today!! Unexpected as we have done both the moves before but in that combo was very burny burny!!

LIIFT4 Wk 2 Day 2 Back and Biceps 50/50

Wow I managed to just stick with my planned weights but this was another great one and certainly a bicep blaster!

(8kg/17.6lbs / 4kg/8lbs), (6kg/13lbs /  6kg/13lbs) (5kg/11lbs / 4kg/8lbs)

I found the HIIT portion tough today but pushed through with Joel's shouting encouragement and looking forward to rest day tomorrow ;)

LIIFT4 Wk Day 1 Chest/Triceps Circuit

OMG this was a monster of a workout!
How shaky were my Chest and Tri's after just the first set, I wasn't sure I could finish the second set lol. I dropped the weights slightly and finished but wowser!!!
And those burnout push ups were crazy - my arms were shaking as I set up at the top and OMG did I think I was going to face plant lol

I modified the 1st and 3rd set of Tricep push ups to Bench just to protect shoulder but even those were so shaky and hard!

Of all the programs I've done none of them have made me shake like this one did.
If this program doesn't build me some muslce then I don't think anything will!!!

LIIFT4 Day 4 Legs 50/50

Holy Leg Day!!!!! This one gave me shaky legs like I haven't had in a long time. Going up and down the stairs about an hour later was seriously not funny lol!!!

(8kg/17.6lbs / 20kg/44lbsBB) (16kg/35lbKB / 6kg/13lbs) (1x8kg/17.6lbs 1st set then 2x6kg/13lbs /  9kg/19.8lbs)

I'll swop Tripple Bears for High Knees or Squat jacks any day of the week!!!

LIIFT4 Day 3 Shoulder Intervals

Loved this today - great format and a great shoulder frier!!

I miss Tony's jokes (I'm sad I know) but loving Joels workouts. I'm really hoping for some great results or should I say muscles ;)

That last move was a tough one - did everyone have to drop their weight like me? lol
(4kg/8lbs / 10lbs), (3kg/6lbs / 3kg/6lbs),  (3kg/6lbs / 2/kg /4.4lbs but had to drop to 1kg/2.2lbs OMG)

No HRM data as my HRM just would not connect grrrr and after 2 hours with no power and I had use my iphones 4G to play my workout on my ipad - I had had enough techno issues and I just canned the HRM. Will try and see what up with it now - I suspect battery but it was flashing but my phone couldn't/wouldnt see it grrr

Bring on Leg day tomorrow - I'm a little scared he he he

LIIFT4 Day 2 Back & Biceps

LIIFT4 Day 2 Back & Biceps

Started off strong and had to drop my weights a little on this - phew! Used 4kg/8lbs upto 8kg / 17.5lbs and everything inbetween lol.

Need to increase pullovers next time for sure. That wide row is an usual movement if you are not used to it?

Is it me or is the ever so slightly slower pace of the momement and the fast pace of changeovers a bit of a killer in this one??

Loving this so far and can't wait for Shoulders on Thursday :)

LIIFT4 Day 1 Chest and Triceps

LIIFT4 Day 1 - Chest and Triceps

Loved this today - that 3rd set was brutal. I was shaking and toast and could not manage many tricep push ups at all. (8kg/17.6lbs/4kg/8lbs), (7kg/15lbs/7kg/15lbs), (8kg/17.6lbs/Knees and not many).
Hopefully my injured that is now feeling strong can get some tricep push up stength back and be stronger than ever.

Having done quite a few of the B4LIIFT4 ones the 3rd set of both Lift and HIIT section was noticable and made all the difference! Nearly two hours later and I still feel a little shakey in the arms OMG!!!!

Bring it!! Looking forward to tomorrow!!

B4Lift 4 Chest and Back, Legs, Shift Shop Strength 25 and IMAX 15

Monday was B4Lift4 Chest and Back, just the main 2 sets, then I did Shift Shop Strength 25 subbing the renegade row for Assist Chin ups. Just to see how much strength I’ve lost not doing any for weeks.

Tuesday was B4Lift4 Legs again just main 2 sets and swopped the HIIT portion for IMAX 15. Then because I wanted to add a it more on as I planned to rest the rest of the week I did a few more burpees, 20 weighted thrusters and some push press just to finish it out.

Wed was shopping, Thursday went to Patchings Art Festival. Yesterday I needed something so I did X3 Yoga just move myself about. Been lacking sleep but finally managed 9 hours last night. So hoping for more good sleep over the weekend and I’m well rested and ready to hit Lift4 on Monday - Wahoo!!

Thurs was Joels 8 x 8 and I really enjoyed it. Got my bar up on my squat rack so I could go much heavier for the squats and reverse lunges.
Increased my Deadlift weight too:)

Fri was B4Lift4 Legs which was tough with Front Squat s and Deadlifts again but still enjoyed it.

Today I did BodyCombat 74 and was was tha a Cardio burner phew. Perfect for after two leg heavy days. Erin I find slow in cueing the moves but other than I loved it!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

B4Lift4 Shoulders and Arms, Full body HIIT & X2 Recovery and Mobility

Thursday was B4Lift4 Shoulders and Arms with an extra round of Lateral Raise and Burpees just for good measure and to make it a little longer and therefore more like the full program.

Friday was B4Lift4 Full body HIIT but I wanted a bit more so I paused at the core section, did 22 Min Hard Core Cardio 2 and then went back and finished the Core section. Great workout :)

Saturday I did most of X2 Recovery and Mobility, which was basically the warmup and the foam rolling as I was short on time. It’s been a while since I visited the pain cave that is my foam roller - but totally worth it.
