Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

Recovery week Day 3 Core Synergistics

Recovery week Day 3 Core Synergistics

Wow I really had forgot how tough this workout can be!

I used the same 2kg and 4kg weights that I used back in Oct and it went great for the first half then it got really tough and I had to keep pausing for a breather - PHEW!

Some moves I equalled my numbers and some I smashed so over all pleased but that was tough! 600 cals worth of tough

It's longer workout that what I've gotten use to and wow did I notice it tonight! I'm also lacking some sleep so here's to a great nights sleep

P90X Kenpo

Kenpo X

Wow this was fun today  Really enjoyed it.

Haven't done Kenpo since Oct 13 so it made a nice change to go back to it.
Good fun way to keep the heart rate up and burning calories without going crazy! Nice workout

Recovery Day 1 X Stretch

X Stretch

Oooh this felt good today. It was really nice to stretch everything out and boy did I need it

I didn't feel like I had done much afterwards - which I know was the point but gives me confidence that my body is recovering already  So really looking forward to Kenpo tomorrow.

P90X2 Balance and Power

After not feeling my Yoga on Friday and generally feeling a little down I decided to change plan slightly. I took Sat and Sunday off completely only going for a couple of walks. Also light eating as a bit of a detox see if I can finally shake this yellow tinge I have grrrr.

Balance and Power

Felt good, made some progress with extra reps here and there, upped my weights to 4kg from 3kg and from 5kg to 6.8kg/15lb for Warrior row press
But towards the end I was flagging, energy just not there. I guess I didn't get enough carbs in the system to sustain me. Bit of an eye opener but also confirm my weekend thinking of few days recovery needed.

So I'm pleased I got Balance and Power done (finished week 3 of foundation phase) but I'm going to finish this actual week out as a recovery/transition/different week to give my body a rest before I start the Strength phase.
Tony's X workouts are all 3 weeks on 1 week transition/recovery but not X2 as he says as P90X grad''s we should know what we are doing so instead of going going going (like a plonker), I decided to listen to my body and keep the same sort of schedule (Jonathan is spot on as this balance stuff really takes more out of you than you think).
My body also obviously likes it as it's always worked for me in the past for X and X3.  I may even do 2 on 1 active recovery during strength if it's really taking it's toll but we will see how it goes.

So my plan for rest of the week is
X stretch (I love the foam roller and recovery and mobility but I feel I'm loosing a bit of flexibility in my hamstrings from the lack of stretching so this seems like a good choice)
Kenpo - for a bit of gentle cardio thats not all out ( I don't remember it being gentle when I first did X but compared to LM Combat and X3 MMA should be a walk in the park lol)
Core Synergistics - keep the body awake, remembering what to do lol
X3 Yoga - wanted some yoga and I like this shorter yoga session more than the others as I always feel refreshed after it.
X stretch - bit more stretching to get myself ready for the coming strength phase.

Seems like a good plan guys??

P90X2 Total Body and Ab Ripper

Total Body and Ab Ripper

I upped most of my weights tonight - started with 3kgs and 12.5lbs/5.6kg week 1, used 3kg, 4kg and 15lb/ 6.8kg week 2 and used 4.5kg, 5kg and 15lb tonight so pleased with that.
Could have easily upped the weight for the warrior 3 curls but saved a bit energy for the other stuff

Increased my push ups side arm balance from 2 full, 2 knees to 10 full

This one really does tire all of you out and with the ab ripper straight after also I burned of 730 calories in the hour and half phew!!

I also took a scoop of protein powder with my banana afterwards too

I think I've been lacking some protein so will up my protein intake and make sure I take a shake on strength days and see if that stops me starving!
I swear this X2 makes you build muscles in secret

P90X2 Recovery and Mobility

Recovery and Mobility

Love my foam roller!

I still can't workout why I'm so hungry -I'm eating the same as I have for the last 2 weeks and this week 3 I just can't get enough food???
