Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

X3 Total Synergistics and Agility X

Rested yesterday as I just felt stressed out and below par - so I listened to my body and took the time out to destress. Felt great today so X3 double with Total Synergistics and Agility X.

Increased my weight for Hop Press and flying warrior πŸ’ͺ🏻. Managed all the Revelie Plie today too - still shaky but pushed through so yay πŸ˜‹.
Warrior Squat moon was better this week but still didn’t get them all in.

I did all push ups on feet including those in Agility X too except for the last round as I was toast but pleased to be feeling stronger in my push ups again πŸ˜

P90X3 The Warrior

Yesterday was X3 The Warrior and it was tough πŸ˜–. I was not feeling 100% and I pushed through, I got it all done but it was really hard work. Rest day today and then start again tomorrow πŸ‘πŸ»

X3 The Challenge, CVX & Fountain of Youth Yoga

Monday was Fountain of Youth Yoga - really enjoyed itπŸ™πŸ»

Tuesday was X3 The Challenge and I managed to get it done with a pull up bar and just about hit all my numbers πŸ’ͺ🏻

Today was X3 CVX and I was pleased as I increased my weight for most of it. Had to drop it just a couple of times when my shoulders were screaming but over all really pleased πŸ˜‹

Looking forward to X3 The Warrior tomorrow as it feels likes ages since I’ve done it!

P90X3 Total Synergistics

X3 Total Synergistics and loved it 😍.
Wow I forgot how good this workout is lol. At home so had to modify the pull up to bands but hunted down the heaviest/hardiest one I could find.
I saw the Sumo Squat move and thought I got this but being up on the toes…and wow my calves and quads were shaking and on πŸ”₯!
Warrior Squat Moon told me how much balance/finesse I have lost in that move too 😝

LIIFT 4 Shoulders Intervals and Legs 50/50

Tuesday was L4 Shoulders Intervals (Wk4) and although tough I enjoyed it. Stayed with the same weights on the raises but felt better. Had to drop a little for the swimmers to keep form. But My shoulders actually felt a little stronger on the overhead press at last. πŸ’ͺ🏻

Yesterday was Legs 50/50 (Wk 7) and I'm doing more workouts from home at the moment as work is crazy busy and there is just no time. So I had to make the best of Bowflex and 2 Spinlock adjustable Dumbells.
Got stuck in and thought...wow I'm feeling strong today these 12kgs/26lbs feel really light for the front squat and calf raises. Bowflex felt super heavy @ 35lbs/16kgs for deadlifts when I'm used to using my Barbell. But after first block was done I double checked and the 2 plates on by dumbbells that I thought were 5kg plates were actually 2.5kg plates so the 12kgs/26lbs were actually only 7kgs/15lbs doh!! 😳
6kgs/13lbs went ok for side lunges and pulsing squat and I was pleased with my increase to 22.5lbs / 10.2 kgs for Bridge. I'm pretty sure I could bridge way more but the weights are awkward to get onto my hips πŸ˜”
Really chuffed with my Sumo squat with a single 50lb/22.6kg as it was only 5lbs under one of the muscle men in the cast lol 😍

Oooh yeah PR to share - during the HIIT section I actually successfully stayed up for the three sets of twisted mountain climbers - first time ever for me!!!! Nothing for some I know but my shoulders just screamed at me and all through the first round of LIIFT 4 I just couldn't do but 4 weeks later and today lots of progress wahooo 😝

Sorry for not posting more often - life is just crazy right now. So much going on with work and life OMG 😩

Bodycombat 68 & LIIFT 4 WK 4 Chest and Tris

Yesterday was Bodycombat 68 and it was even better than last week! 😍

Today was LIIFT 4 Wk 4 Chest and Tris Circuit and I actually felt just a teensy bit stronger πŸ’ͺ🏻 (although after first set I got called to secure a door from the terrible winds) but took less breaks and didn't reach almost failure this time with better pacing too = every once of progress counts right 😊
Needless to say I was pretty useless in the burn out and these quad sets just fry your muscles and he expects push ups...come on πŸ™„

Hope everyone is still killing it!

LIIFT4 Chest and tris, X3 triometrics, Shouders Intervals, Legs

Sunday was LIIFT4 Chest and tris 50/50 from wk3 and I swopped out the hiit section for X3 triometrics.
Chest and tris was tough as always especially the tricep push ups at the end.
Triometrics is always fun with Tony, I enjoy the extra leg work but that kablam section at the ends still burns lol 😜

Monday rested and yesterday was LIIFT4 Shoulders Intervals. Got my weights back to where they were before my weak week but my shoulders don’t seem to be progressing as well as I would like, especially in the overhead press ☹️
Felt my chest Dom’s too in those darn swimmers 😨

Today was LIIFT4 Legs 50/50 (wk 5) and increased on Front squat but weights at sides again. Sumo squat up to 50lbs/22kg which I felt. Increased rear alt lunges up to 2 x 8kg / 17.5lbs and oh yes I felt that one too lol.
I was toast for the hit section, those sumo jumps I could hardly get off the ground and had to modify to keep moving 😳 and although I’m no fan of triple bears I think I’m slowly getting better at them or rather my shoulders are allowing me to stay up for longer and I actually managed the full 30 secs in the last set through sheer grit and determination πŸ˜›.

BodyCombat 68 & LIIFT 4 Back & Biceps Circuit

Friday I needed something so I chose BodyCombat 68 and it was awesome. I had not done it before but it was great, fast and furious and great cardio burner! Loved it!!!

Yesterday was Back and Biceps from Wk 3 of LIIFT 4. I subbed in assisted pull ups for the 1st round of Trad Row and then moved to Pull downs as I was toast!
Increased my weights from last time and boy I felt it!

P90X Plyometrics, P90X3 The Challenge, 22MHC Core 2 & X3 Complex Lower

Sorry catch up post...

Sunday I did Plyometrics and loved it. Started flagging atound 50 mins mark but pushed through ;)

Monday rested with a busy work day.

Tuesday I took on P90X3 The Challenge and yes it was lol. I haven't lost that much strength as such as I actually fell stronger on the pull ups but I have lost some endurance as the later reps were tough to impossible.
Push ups I was dissapointed with if I'm honest, I would have thought LIIFT4 would have helped with all the Chest presses but I felt weaker in the push ups overall.
Chased it with 22MHC Core 2 and oh my abs - tougher than I remember lol!!!

Today I did X3 Complex Lower and really enjoyed it. My plank work on the The Stabilzer felt much stronger so my core is feeling good.

Couple of rest days now with maybe some yoga then back to LIIFT4 ;)
