Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

P90X3 The Challenge & CVX

Missed yesterdays workout as I was taking a kitchen to bits and moving the units to other room. A workout but not as we know it lol

So today I doubled up and loved it!

I've clearly lost some of what I had during the move as I couldn't hit the same push up numbers all on my feet as I had last time I did this one but over all pretty pleased. Rip 60 Straps again for subs for pull ups that weren't crazy hard but definitely worked the right muscles including the hold like 'Pain in the Alice' does on screen ;)

CVX was great fun and tougher than I remember. I went with the 5lb that Tracey uses but wow this one trashes your shoulders and I couldn't hang on to it all the way through. I probably could have really pushed but I do want to lift my arms tomorrow!!

BOD Yoga Week 1 Day 3

Just a bit of Yoga for me today as lacking sleep and didn't feel like pushing crazy hard. Really enjoyed it and actually more energised from it. Vytas is a great trainer.

T25 Cardio & BOD Yoga Week 1 Day 2

Phew this one woke me up today - moving house does not help you stay cardio fit - let me tell you!!

Chased it with Yoga Stretch and it was great - really enjoyed it and some nice stretches in there. He's a great trainer and easy to listen to.

Love it!!

P90X3 Total Synergistics & BOD Yoga Week 1 Day 1

I used bands and my Rip 60 straps tonight for pull knee pulls and chin up circle crunch respectively - not band subs I don't think??

Really enjoyed Total Synergistic - gave it my all and felt that I crushed it!

Chased it with the new BOD Yoga Foundation Core and it was really good and actually more challenging than I expected but that was mainly because my body was already fatigued from the first workout. Even had the full body tremble going on trying the those last ab moves!

Loved it!

T25 Gamma The Pyramid & MH&C 15Min Glute Chisel

Had a couple of days off as felt too grotty to workout but got stuck in today with The Pyramid (first time) - a good little workout but felt very rushed in places. Those pike ups are a bear! I used 7.5lbs for all of it except the triceps at the end I dropped to 5lbs phew!
Then I went straight into Hammer and Chisels Glute chisel (used a 5lb DB instead a ball) to get back to some glute work for my knee as I haven't done any in a couple of weeks with all the moving.

Overall felt like I got a great workout - best I've felt all week and I'm feeling a bit more like myelf again :)

Next week I'm going for some X3 and maybe some T25 hybrid action.
I want to get back to Beast or even Hammer and Chisel but no bench at the moment as I'm working out in a small space at home in my bedroom for now till we get our new unit sorted in a few weeks time, then should have my own great gym space.

I just hope my doorway chin up bar fits in these doorways as I haven't tried it yet! Otherwise I might have try and find my Rip 60 kit (suspension trainer) or even revert to bands which are buried in the garage somewhere OMG!!

T25 Gamma Extreme Circuit

My energy levels were low today but I remembered my pre workout tonight and got stuck in.

Went with light weights as first time doing this one and some of the moves made my muscles scream and for others not enough but a great little workout.

It's hard to have 1 set of dumbells for the whole workout - so advice please....do you wait till the shoulders get stronger so that you can increase your weights OR do you increase the weights and miss a few reps on the shoulder ones to enable the rest of the body to get a better workout???

T25 Gamma Rip't Up

So after moving house which has been an incredibly draining but wonderful experience I finally got a little FOY yoga done yesterday. I was feeling a little stiff from no stretching even though I've been very active and doing lots of lifting, carry and packing/unpacking.

Today I got T25 Gamma Rip't Up done but with very light weights just to get something done. I'm still recovering from the move but wanted a little something and this did the job nicely.

Beast Up Chest, Shoulders & Tri's

Been a crazy stressful day with work and house/mortgage issues but I made time and pressed play.
I pushed hard and failed on some tonight which was actually a great feeling.
Some new personal bests on incline dumbell press, Military Press, Decline Push Ups and Reverse grip delt raise so I'm really happy. It feels great to be getting noticabley stronger by kg/lbs going up and small changes noticed in the mirror - love it.
Lots more packing and sorting tomorrow - only few more days before it really gets chaotic!!

Insanity Ayslum Strength

Shaun T kicks my butt every time with this workout!!
On the 3rd round of those darn dumbell rotations I skipped the second push up which allowed me to keep going and get all the reps in instead of collapsing in a heap lol.
And I actually made some good progress by using a heavier weight for warm up round 1, increased weight on first round of shoulder press, more reps on Chest press with leg extentions and almost 2 extra frog jumps w/ single leg planks (I call a single leg burpee) so really chuffed.
Needed it to help with the stress (really busy work day today) and loved it!!

Also during the hip flys I looked in the mirror and I could really see my lats working ;)

BBeast Build Back and Bi's

A bit rushed tonight as expecting visitors but got it done. Pleased with my deadlift sets as equal my last pr. For speed I used dumbells instead the EZ bar which was quicker but also slighter tougher lol.

Chin ups weren't as strong tonight but I did get a new PR for the one arm row @ 35lb for 8 reps in the final set :)

I think my baby guns are starting to grow again!!
