Welcome to my fitness log

I've created this to keep everything to do with my fitness journey in one place for easy reference.
I've listed links to places I visit regularly or places I think are interesting or valuable resources.

I started doing Crossfit September 22nd 2009 and I loved it - it's totally awesome and it made me a better person in so many different ways!

After nearly 4 years of Crossfit and wrist injury I tried a home fitness DVD for a change and something new - Rip 60 was really great and then I found Beachbody / Tony Horton's P90X!
It's THE best home fitness program ever!!!
It changed my body in so many amazing ways and got my cardio fitness, my core and overall strength including push up strength better than ever before!!

I now do many Beachbody programs as they are all so great.
I 'm a big Tony Horton fan because he makes me work hard but makes me laugh at the same time.
After I completed P90X, I did P90X3, P90X2 and some P90X+. I''ve tried other Beachbody programs including the P90, Piyo, Focus T25,
21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat, BodyBeast and Insanity, The Aslyum 1 and 2. Completed 21 Day Fix and 22 Min hard Core.

Did some Insanity Max 30 and Core de Force but my knees can't handle jumping every day so I have to mix them in.
Shift shop is great and looking forward to the new 80 Day obsession.

I'm the fittest I've ever been in my life and still getting stronger every day!

P90X3 Incinerator, BodyCombat 71, X3 Eccentric Upper

Wednesday was X3 Incinerator.
Thursday I went for a new BodyCombat with #71 which was pretty good. Not as intense as 68 (ie they give you time to breath) with some mobility stuff in there but the leg section was tough two days after Eccentric Lower = I didn't make it lol.
Rested yesterday and today although full of cold grrrrrrrrr I did Eccentric Upper. Nothing too crazy as used the bands due to being at home but slight increases on Military Press, Upright Row, Lateral/Anterior raise and Kneeling Preacher Curls so pretty pleased :)

See how my cold is feeling tomorrow and may either do Triometrics or rest.

P90X3 Eccentric Lower & 22MHC Core 2

Eccentric Lower tonight and wow shaky legs!!! I tried to use my recent LIIFT4 weights for guidance on this one as it a long time since I last did it and boy there were about spot on pheew!!! Hope I dont regret it over the 48 hours!!

Chased it with Core 2 and nope I didn't manage all the reps but I did my best!

P90X3 Eccentric Upper

So phase 2 of P90X3 and Eccentric Upper - got my weights about right and enjoyed it.

At home so used Rip 60 straps and bands for pull ups but tried to make them as hard as I could. Shoulder felt a little tweaky after Miltary press but has since calmed down so all good.

Feels great to be back to some weights again - I know recovery weeks are necessary but they are still hard!!!

P90X3 Isometrix, Dynamix, Accelerator & BodyCombat 68

Monday was Dynamix chased with Isometrix and OMG I had forgotten how tough Isometrix is! Those 60 secs holds feel like an eternity 😞

Wednesday I did Accelerator - was a good one but tough for me because of all the Plank work ☹️
Will my shoulder ever get strong enough to do all the plank work in these programs??

I’ve been crazy busy and stressing over all sorts of stuff (and comfort eating) so today I decided to punch and kick the stress away and burn some of those chocolate calories away 😝 with Les Mills BodyCombat 68 - wow did I need that!!!

P90X3 The Warrior and 22MHC Cardio 2

P90X3 The Warrior and I chased it with 22MHC Cardio 2 = phew πŸ˜… Boy did I lose some dna tonight OMG!!!

Elevator Push ups felt better and I can't beleive how many burpees I've done in the last two days lol.

P90X3 Yoga, The Challege and CVX which turned into Max 30 Cardio Challenge

Monday was P90X3 Yoga and apart from an interruption to go find our missing pup who wasn’t really missing - he was just hiding under the bush as he was scared of the fireworks - it was just what I neededπŸ™πŸ».

Yesterday was The Challenge and it went pretty well. Push ups feeling good, more military done on 1 knee instead of 2 😊 so more progress.
Managed to get to my pull up bar thank goodness and I managed 3 unassisted chin ups with a small jump at the bottom 😁, the rest were assisted and I did 30kg pulldowns in the burnout just to keep things interesting.

Today was going to be CVX but I started it and got some weird pain in my left shoulder during the push jacks, tried to work through it into loading dock but it was having none of it so I quit it and went straight into Max 30 Cardio Challenge. Enjoyed it but struggled a little during the last two rounds - I think I ran out of gas..been a long stressy day and lacking a bit food me thinks.

P90X+ Intervals Plus

Needed more than Agility X today so I chose P90X+ Intervals Plus and I swear it's the best cardio workout that Tony has ever done!!

Love it!!!!

X3 Total Synergistics and Shift Shop Prep week Proving Grounds Strength

Total Synergistics was good today, push ups felt stronger and balance was much improved. I snapped my black band on chin ups :( so I switched to Rip 60 (like TRX) straps to finish.

I wanted a little more when I was done and I actually had the time today, so I thought I’d try Shift Shop Proving Ground Strength - I did the Prep week just to see. It was pretty good. Some new combos of strength movements and of course bears🐻! Not triple bears but bears none the less lol.
Overall enjoyed it 😊

P90X3 Dynamix, Yoga, The Challenge and The Warrior with Max30 Cardio Challenge

Been a crazy week so catch up post....

Monday was X3 Dynamix and Yoga πŸ™πŸ».

Tuesday time was tight was I got the The Challenge done. I was pleased with my increase reps in pull ups (some as I almost didnt get my chin over as I reached failure last time - I made them this time) and my push ups are feeling stronger. Miltary (my weakest from injured shoulder) I did more on one knee instead of two knees and even those on feet I took less or later breathers ie 10 last week was 5-3-2 I managed 6-4 this week so YAY!!!πŸ’ͺ🏻

I needed some Shaun T on Thursday so I manage to squeeze in Cardio Challenge and it was tough but loved it - I know I've said it before but still nobody makes me sweat like Shaun T!!!😰

Yesterday I just managed to carve out the time to get The Warrior done and phew - its still pretty brutal. Was pleased with the Elevator push ups this week - slight improvement over last week.πŸ’ͺ🏻

Rest today and then decide if I do a third week of X3 Phase 1, move on to phase 2 or change to some X2 πŸ€”.
